Banijay International's 'Sex Academy' recruits new students in Spain
Madrid, 25 July, 2011 – Banijay International, distribution arm of leading global production consortium Banijay Group, has sold Denmark’s ratings-wining format Sex Academy to Spain.
Leading Spanish broadcaster Telecinco has commissioned Banijay Group company Cuarzo Producciones to produce 13 x 100 episodes of Sex Academy, translated as Academia del Sexo, to air this fall.
A strong ratings winner, Sex Academy has more than doubled the average audience share of its primary broadcaster TV2 World in Denmark and has garnered commercial shares of up to 25%. The show has also enjoyed similar success on TV Norge in Norway.

Created by TV2 in Denmark, Sex Academy, sees eight happy, ordinary couples go back to school, but this time to learn about sex! The budding students are lectured by the school’s Headmistress in various topics such as the importance of foreplay, different sexual positions and role-playing before being given homework that they have to complete before the next lesson. Using their own home video cameras, the couples invite viewers to follow their hands-on experience and then discuss what they have learnt back in the classroom in the hope of graduating to a permanently improved sex-life!
