Zig Zag joins Banijay

Paris, 15 January 2010 – Banijay Entertainment announces the acquisition of British production company Zig Zag Productions.

Zig Zag, created in 1999 by Danny Fenton and Kevin Utton, is an award-winning British independent production company that has successfully established itself in the highly competitive international production market.

Zig Zag has already produced more than 400 hours of programmes for the UK and international markets in a wide variety of genres including Factual, Factual Entertainment, Docusoap, Game Show and Reality. By maintaining direct relationships and dialogue with a wide range of TV channels, Zig Zag is considered a genuine partner for all broadcasters. Within the last 12 months alone Zig Zag has produced for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Five, Sky, ESPN and Virgin Media Television in the UK, and for a wide range of international channels. Recent programme brands include Relentless (Channel 4), “The Truth Behind…” (National Geographic Channel), Super Agents (BBC) and BodyShock (Channel 4).

Banijay will also acquire the Zig Zag subsidiary HooHah - a digital creative agency specialising in short form and branded entertainment content.

In joining the Banijay Group, Zig Zag’s managers have chosen to step up their expansion and benefit from the backing of a new network of international production companies.

The Zig Zag acquisition confirms Banijay’s strategy of uniting dynamic and creative production companies run by managers with widely recognized personality and talent.
